The technical team at the NIHR Exeter Clinical Research Facility (CRF), which is based in the RILD Building, have had two poster abstracts accepted for presentation at the 2019 UK Clinical Research Facility Network Conference in Nottingham. Both posters highlight the crucial role technician’s play in the smooth running of the CRF and the RILD building in general.
The first abstract is entitled: ‘Exeter CRF Technical Team: Expanding the technical role’ and emphasises how the technical team provides support in a wide variety of areas beyond traditional lab based roles including patient contact, study administration and outreach work.
The second abstract is entitled ‘Maintaining a large, dedicated freezer room for the CRF: A fine facility or a flawed folly’ and stresses the role the team plays in ensuring the RILD freezer room (which contains 51 freezers) is maintained and that any emergencies are promptly responded to.
