{"id":256,"date":"2015-06-01T12:00:59","date_gmt":"2015-06-01T11:00:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.exeter.ac.uk\/technicalservices\/?p=256"},"modified":"2015-06-01T12:00:59","modified_gmt":"2015-06-01T11:00:59","slug":"june-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.exeter.ac.uk\/technicalservices\/2015\/06\/01\/june-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"June 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Appointment announcement<\/h2>\n<p>I am\u00a0delighted to announce that Gail Reeves has been appointed as our first Head of Technical Services.\u00a0Gail has been Assistant College Manager for CLES in Cornwall where she had responsibility for managing technical staff operations (amongst other responsibilities).\u00a0 Gail has a biology research background and therefore has \u00a0extensive experience of \u00a0working in labs.\u00a0I hope you will join me in wishing Gail all the very best in her new role.\u00a0<em>Linda Peka, Director of College Services.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI am looking forward to working with all staff in our new technical services structure who deliver excellent support to STEMM research and teaching on all our campuses. \u00a0We are progressing well with the organisational structure for our service, and are currently consulting with college executive groups, disciplines and the unions. We plan to publish the structure\u00a0<a href=\"\/\/2\">on 1 July<\/a>\u00a0as previously advised. I hope to meet all TS staff over the coming weeks and months, to get to know you individually and to better understand the detail of the first-class service that you provide.\u201d\u00a0<\/em>Gail<\/p>\n<h2>HEaTED CATTS (Competency Assessment Tool for Technical Staff)<\/h2>\n<p>We have now adopted the Competency Assessment Tool for Technical Staff (CATTS) for Technical Services.
