It is based on 2 objectives: O1. Modeling baseline COS and persistent COS in intact forests. Consolidate field and literature data on the storage of COS, CPi and CS isotopes in the Amazon, in intact forest plots. O2. Factors of COS change in FMHs (Human Modified Forests). Quantify contemporary change in COS stocks and protected and labile fractions after fire and over time in FMHs encompassing land use, fire severity, soil physicochemical properties, and climate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This PD position requires skills in the field of Earth System Sciences, with experience in analysis and interpretation of COS, CPi, \u03b413C, \u03b415N, soil respiration and GHG, soil physicochemical properties, and manipulation of field databases. Knowledge of monitoring forest C balance is desirable, mapping the large-scale distribution of environmental variables. The PD must interact with a team of national and international scientists.
