The research is part of large-scale NERC-funded projects. There are opportunities to develop and deploy sensors to study climatic and human impacts on tropical forests. The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukri.org\/councils\/epsrc\/remit-programmes-and-priorities\/our-research-portfolio-and-priorities\/#contents-list\">EPSRC&#8217;s portfolio<\/a>&nbsp;ranges from digital technologies to clean energy, manufacturing to mathematics, advanced materials to chemistry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This application process for this scheme is&nbsp;<em>student-centred<\/em>, where you are asked to contact a member of academic staff with relevant expertise and appropriate track record of EPSRC-facing research.&nbsp;<strong>The deadline for us to receive your application is 19th February 2024 however you will need to contact your potential supervisor and together write a short proposal &#8211; you are strongly advised to allow sufficient time to do this.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>Our research priorities for these studentships are based around those identified by the funder (EPSRC), however we particularly encourage applications for mulltidiciplinary projects, and those that have the potential to align with industry or other external organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More info and to apply: https:\/\/www.exeter.ac.uk\/study\/pg-research\/funding\/phdfunding\/epsrc-dtp-studentships\/<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Header image credit: Ted R.
