Some are to do with recruitment of eligible children, some to do with the delivery of the toolkit, and some are to help us evaluate it. W<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun BCX0 SCXW209246614\">e ask that you include both boys and girls in your recruitment process and we will provide you with short questionnaires\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun BCX0 SCXW209246614\">which can be completed by class teachers\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun BCX0 SCXW209246614\">to briefly screen for ADHD\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun BCX0 SCXW209246614\">traits<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun BCX0 SCXW209246614\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW218711999 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW218711999 BCX0\">You will also be\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW218711999 BCX0\">responsible<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW218711999 BCX0\">\u00a0for the first contact made to the parents of eligible children for the programme\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW218711999 BCX0\">to gauge their interest and ask permission that their details may be passed on to the research team. This may include offering to meet parents who are unsure and may have questions\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW218711999 BCX0\">about the study before they give consent to take part.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW218711999 BCX0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-10171\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse10171\" aria-controls=\"collapse10171\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> Know ADHD training<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse \" id=\"collapse10171\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-1017\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-10171\"> <div class=\"ea-body\"><p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW7052726 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7052726 BCX0\">The\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7052726 BCX0\">first\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7052726 BCX0\">s<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7052726 BCX0\">tep of the programme<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7052726 BCX0\">\u00a0(\u2018Know ADHD\u2019)<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7052726 BCX0\">\u00a0will involve\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW7052726 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7052726 BCX0\">completing online training<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7052726 BCX0\">\u00a0which can be completed at any time<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7052726 BCX0\">. This training will consist of some videos and small activities to help you learn about what causes certain children to have difficulties paying attention, being impulsive or hyperactive. Understanding the general causes of these\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7052726 BCX0\">behaviours<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7052726 BCX0\">\u00a0will help you get to know the specific issues\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7052726 BCX0\">that young people participating in the study may\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7052726 BCX0\">face later in the toolkit.<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7052726 BCX0\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7052726 BCX0\">This training will also include more detail on how the toolkit works.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW7052726 BCX0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-10172\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse10172\" aria-controls=\"collapse10172\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> Know the Child<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse \" id=\"collapse10172\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-1017\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-10172\"> <div class=\"ea-body\"><p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">The\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">\u2018Know the Child\u2019 section of th<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">e\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">programme will call for you to\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">organise<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">\u00a0two meetings\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">w<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">ith<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">\u00a0parents,<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">\u00a0teachers and othe<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">rs involved in the toolk<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">i<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">t at the school<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">. These meetings will serve as an opportunity to identify two problem areas where the child is\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">currently<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">\u00a0struggling and will allow you to complete functional\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">behaviour<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">\u00a0analysis to understand the pre-cursors and consequences around these\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">b<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">ehaviours<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW240399461 BCX0\">\u00a0for the child.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW240399461 BCX0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-10173\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse10173\" aria-controls=\"collapse10173\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> Understand motivations and setting 'targets'<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse \" id=\"collapse10173\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-1017\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-10173\"> <div class=\"ea-body\"><p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW74517974 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW74517974 BCX0\">You will be\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW74517974 BCX0\">coordinating<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW74517974 BCX0\">\u00a0and supporting teachers and TAs to plan and deliver the toolkit strategies in conjunction with\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW74517974 BCX0\">support<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW74517974 BCX0\">\u00a0from parents at home. Y<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW74517974 BCX0\">our role will also be\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW74517974 BCX0\">crucial<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW74517974 BCX0\">\u00a0in assisting teachers and TAs to progress, maintain, and, if necessary, switch strategies.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW74517974 BCX0\">Each module will contain 10 possible behavioural strategies, and each child will receive two modules. You will need to decide collaboratively which strategies to use based on the two beha<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW74517974 BCX0\">viours identified in the \u2018Know the Child\u2019 step.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW74517974 BCX0\">\u00a0The teacher will then implement these strategies in class.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-10174\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse10174\" aria-controls=\"collapse10174\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> How well is the toolkit working?<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse \" id=\"collapse10174\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-1017\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-10174\"> <div class=\"ea-body\"><p>After some time working with the\u00a0toolkit\u00a0you will be asked to take part in an initial meeting with the research team to discuss the toolkit, as well as attending a focus group\u00a0with other involved members of staff\u00a0held for each child to discuss the\u00a0strengths and limitations of the toolkit.
