Bomboma peatland

The Bomboma peatland is a peat swamp near the beautiful village of Bomboma, in the Tshopo region of DRC. The site is dominated by trees of approximately 20 m height, with some palms, and a peat layer that varies between 2 and 7 meters.

The monitoring efforts are led by Prof. Gerard Imani, M. Michel Mbasi and their team. Gerard’s (a different Gerard!) met tower is placed at his home in Bomboma village.
