I am a graduate of Aberystwyth University and read BSc Physical Geography and MSc Environmental Change, Impact and Adaptation. Whilst studying at University, I became interested in the effects of climate change on soil carbon storage and terrestrial GHG gas emissions. My MSc dissertation involved analysing land-use changes in the Cambridgeshire fens and the implications of peat sequestration, microbial respiration and decomposition. On leaving university, I worked in outdoor and environmental education both in the UK and USA. I then joined Rothamsted Research on the long-term experiments (LTE\u2019s) where I focused on soil and crop health by conducting both field and lab work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m very excited to work on the TroPeaCC project, combining my interests in peat, climate and carbon storage. I will be mostly lab based in Exeter, but I am hoping to learn lots more about tropical peatland environments!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
