Van Houte Lab

Post-doctoral Fellow

I apply high-throughput functional genetic screens to understand cell physiology. I have a background in molecular genetics; my previous work involved using transposon-insertion sequencing to identify genes that are required for a cell to grow and divide (“essential genes”), in addition to those that contribute to fitness under conditions of stress (e.g. antibiotic exposure).

I joined the van Houte lab to understand how bacterial defence systems cooperate in response to phage infection, using Pseudomonas aeruginosa as a model.

I can also be found on my bluesky and orcid.
