Researchers at the University of Exeter Medical School are working with the University of Manchester on a project aimed at supporting people with diabetes. Healthy control participants and people with diabetes have been walking on treadmills and undergoing foot tests to study the material properties of plantar tissue.

Testing is underway at VSimulators, using equipment such as sensors and an ultrasound scanner.

The testing in Exeter is supported by the NIHR Exeter Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and builds upon the collaborative EPSRC-funded Happier Feet project between Manchester and Exeter. The collaboration aims to advance understanding of foot health and contribute to better outcomes for those living with diabetes.
