Using videos on your page can really help bring the content to life and are a great way to really show what life is like on campus or illustrate your research. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Storing video content <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Video can’t <\/strong>be uploaded directly to the T4 Media Library. Video files are large and would slow your page down. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To insert a video on your page, the video needs to\u00a0first\u00a0be\u00a0uploaded to\u00a0YouTube or Vimeo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please use\u00a0this form<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0submit\u00a0video content\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0Digital Image and Video Curation officer.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Ensure you provide as much relevant information as possible to support the upload process.\u00a0Please note:\u00a0All submissions will be reviewed to ensure they meet the\u00a0University\u2019s brand guidelines, accessibility requirements, and quality standards.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Embedding the video into a web page  <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once loaded to a video sharing platform the video can be added a web page using a template that has a video field.  DO NOT paste raw embed code directly into text fields.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your site uses the new recruitment templates the Panels template<\/a> is the best way to add a video into your page. These are designed to be fully accessible and responsive to different screen sizes and devices. You can set varying widths, add captions, links and headings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finding the video ID <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To add a video, you\u2019ll need the video ID from the URL.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

YouTube <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The YouTube ID is the code that appears after the = sign in the URL. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example: https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BUN0sSa2e9c<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video ID is: BUN0sSa2e9c <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vimeo <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Vimeo ID is the code that appears after the final \/ in the URL. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example: https:\/\/vimeo.com\/1187735069<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video ID is: 1187735069 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is also a mandatory field for Video alt title. <\/strong> This should be a short explanation about the video. This value will appear as the title on the video on your webpage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
