My background is in molecular biology and bacteriology. I am interested in mobile genetic elements and the relationships they form with their hosts. During my PhD at the University of Paris-Saclay, I studied the mobility mechanisms of a bacterial group II intron, a site-specific retrotransposon, and explored its physiological impact on its Escherichia coli host. My postdoctoral project aims to explore whether the antibacterial efficiency of synthetic therapeutic phages can be enhanced by introducing additional payload genes.
