If you’ve accepted an offer of accommodation with us, it may feel like things are moving fast towards your start in University life. It can be both an exciting and a daunting time, so here’s some information that might help you to get organised.
Arrivals Weekend
The main arrivals period for 2024/25 will be Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September 2024. Arrivals on Friday 13 September may be possible at some particular residences – take a look at our website to check if this applies to you.

Once you’ve accepted your accommodation offer, you’ll receive various communications to help you move through the process of completing your Welcome Induction first, which will then allow you to book your arrivals slot.

With so many students moving into residences over the same few days, there are a few things you need to be mindful of, so please take a look at some key tips our website to help make your arrival as smooth as possible.
Top tip: If you have yet to receive your accommodation offer because you are awaiting exam results, then the Welcome Induction and Arrivals booking process will be available to you from week of 26th August.
When will I find out my room number?
Although we have provisionally allocated you to specific room, this is subject to change for various reasons while we complete all the room allocations. So until you actually arrive and receive your room key, the room number may change, but don’t worry, your residence and block will remain unchanged.
For those students who can register with the University from end of August onwards, you will see the provisional room number noted on your term time address shown during this process, but it is still subject to change until your actually arrive.
So that’s an overview of the logistics of booking your arrival at your University accommodation. We’ll be posting further blogs soon about what you might need to bring with you, and the first tasks you need to do when you arrive, so keep an eye on the blog for more helpful information.
