Good morning everyone and welcome to today’s blog! We hope that you’re all starting to settle in now that we’re saying goodbye to summer. Today we are going to look at a few points to ensure that you can make the most out of your first few weeks here.
Making Friends
Having spoken to many students over the past few weeks, we understand that some of you are still feeling quite overwhelmed with University. Please remember that you are absolutely not alone! Whilst, it may seem that students in the flat opposite yours are all best friends for life already, remember that it is still very early days and your accommodation is not the only place you will meet people.
In a perfect world, you would meet your future best friends forever in the room next door. However, this really is not often the case. University is a great time and place to meet people that you wouldn’t normally have mixed with. Try to get out and try new activities and societies, attend your lectures and seminars and be patient!
Support Services
Please do remember that The University has a large range of support services for you if you are struggling. We don’t want you to feel alone. Our residence life team do daily drop-in sessions hosted by our Residence Life Mentors and Residence Life Coordinators.
