With only a few days left before you’ll be making that move to university, here is some last-minute information and contacts to help make your arrival enjoyable and stress-free.

Things to do before you arrive

If you’re super organised, you may have already nailed the pre-arrival to-do list, but if not don’t worry. There’s lots of information on the new students guide to help you with that all-important university life admin.

Checking-in at your accommodation

Before you set off, remember to check when and where you have booked your arrivals slot. If you arrive early, please make your way to one of the longer-term parking options, to wait for your booked time. There will be parking attendants on campus to help with this. You’ll find full details and FAQs about arriving at your accommodation on our arrivals webpages.

Moving-In essentials

What are the top 6 things to do once you’ve moved in? How do you connect to the wifi? What welfare support is available? And where is the nearest café or shop? Find all this and more on our Arrivals Portal.

When you arrive

Once you’ve moved your things into your accommodation, there are a few other tasks for you to do, such as collecting your UniCard – take a look at the new students webpages for more information.

Get social!

Once the essential tasks are out of the way, you can take your time to enjoy your new surroundings and meet your fellow new students. Final year student Rebecca gave lots of tips in her blog last week about settling in and finding your way around.

There is also the Arrivals Film Fest to enjoy on the Streatham Campus, which is open to all students, families, and friends on the Great Hall Piazza (number 1, grid 6G on the campus map). Grab a drink and enjoy some feel-good musical films over the weekend. No need to book, just turn up!

  • Saturday 7pm: Mamma Mia
  • Sunday 2pm: Encanto
  • Sunday 7pm: Bohemian Rhapsody

We hope this has given you some useful information before you pack up your things and start your journey to Exeter. If there is anything else you still need to know, try our Accommodation website.

We’re looking forward to meeting you!
