Good morning all,
Well, we’re into September already! Many of you will be making preparations to arrive in Exeter shortly. Today’s blog is for those of you who will need to self-isolate upon arrival. We understand that this is quite a strange concept and can be quite daunting. However, we have worked hard to ensure that we can make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Self-isolation Provisions

If you are arriving early and are placed in an alternative accommodation for your self-isolation period, we will provide you with a well equipped kitchen to cook meals and all necessary bedding. You might want to order a starter pack of groceries and homewares which will be delivered to your room prior to arrival or you can.

You will also be able to sign-up for a delivery service to receive three meals a day to your door. The cost for this service is £15 per day and this charge will be added to your student account. You will receive a link to the online delivery service in your welcome letter for accommodation. Don’t worry we won’t let you go hungry!

If you are arriving after your contract starts and are in catered halls, you will be delivered meals to your room and will not be charged for these. You will not be allowed to dine in the hall.

Under government guidelines on how to self-isolate when you travel to the UK, you must stay in your accommodation unless there is an emergency. You will need to exercise in your room and will need to bring enough clothes for the period as you will be unable to use laundry facilities.

Activities

Our University have launched ‘Connected’ your online programme for self-isolation. This is a space for all students to come and access a number of different events during their 14-day self-isolation period.  You can view the whole programme for Exeter Based Students online. Students can also join us on the Connected Facebook group to meet with other students who are self-isolating across our campuses.

Whilst we know that it is a really difficult time for everyone we appreciate your understanding and hope that your self-isolation goes well!

We’re here to support you throughout your stay, Estate patrol can be contacted 24 hours a day and your residence reception will also be available to help.
