Jed Spree

PhD Student

Jed obtained his master’s degree in Physics from the University of Exeter in July 2020 before joining the RaNT team as a PhD student the following November. As an undergraduate his master’s project focused on developing an optical imaging system for detecting microplastic pollution in water.

Under the supervision of Prof Nick Stone and Prof Pavel Matousek, Jed’s PhD project aims to develop and test a novel surface enhanced spatially offset Raman spectroscopy (SESORS) system for the detection, visualisation and treatment of cancers at depths of many centimetres.
