Tuesday 17th January 2023 – The first team away day of 2023 was an away day at home!
We started the day with a Strategic Thinking masterclass with Professor Stuart Robinson from the Business School– where we spoke about successful organisations, different strategies in business, and discussed a case study on ITVx. This session allowed us to all think about the Digital Strategy as a business strategy, and how we can build on it to make it successful.
Visiting the Digital Humanities Lab
We then walked down to the Digital Humanities Lab were we broke off into small groups and explored the different digital tools they use, and learnt about the cool projects that they have been apart of! This was a super interesting part of the day, it was great meeting a different team at the University and finding out about what they are working on and how we can collaborate in the future.
Focusing on the Digital Strategy
After lunch we all came back together to review our December outcomes, and work on the new ‘hill to climb’ for April. We then broke off into chapters to talk about our personal and team goals, and how our work directly relates to the Digital Strategy.
The importance of feedback
We finished the day with a session delivered by our ‘Culture Club’ on the importance of feedback and used a Menti Meter quiz to gauge an idea on how comfortable everyone feels giving and receiving feedback within the team. Feedback is something we feel is a crucial aspect needed within the team to ensure that we are continuously making progress and removing any barriers we face as a team.
