I’m Deborah, a fourth year medical student and Student Communications and Engagement Assistant in the Digital team at the University of Exeter. As you may have heard, in September 2024 the University released their new student app, MyExeter.
I’m sharing how I use MyExeter throughout the week to enhance my University experience!
Using MyExeter during the week

The Timetable and My Day features help me find out where and when my lectures happen. MyExeter enables me to have access to my entire timetable on my phone in a simple format, which makes navigating campus and arriving on time much easier!
Between lectures, I use the app to quickly book a study space, giving my friends and I a comfortable spot to study from before our next session. When I need to access the Exeter Learning Environment (ELE2) for course materials, MyExeter ensures it’s just a few taps away—which is great for when I’ve misplaced my browser bookmark.
How I use MyExeter over the weekend
Last year I was based in Exeter however I’m now based in Cornwall for the year. This means I’m not as aware of what’s happening on and off campus. The Events page keeps me informed about activities in Falmouth, helping me plan fun outings with friends. The University Updates section is also really useful to find out what’s happening in Cornwall. Last year it helped us plan our bonfire night as well as discover when the Christmas market switch-on was happening – Events and University Updates are two of my favourite features!
Other features I love

At the beginning of the year the University asks all students to register in the student record system (SRS). In my first years at Exeter I always struggled to find out where SRS was, but it is now accessible in the MyExeter app which makes the whole process a lot easier as I can access it from my phone.
For first years just joining the University, there are also some great resources to find out what kind of support and facilities are available to you. Use the online campus map to find places to shop, eat, or drink on campus, as well as the location of the multi-faith chaplaincy. You can also book medical appointments from the Student Health Centre link in the app. Also discover different sports available at the University, get access to the online library and to guides for printing. All of these features can be found in the More section of MyExeter.
Having everything I need accessible from my phone makes my whole University experience a lot easier. As a long-time student, I’ve found MyExeter has made it a lot easier for me to find the information I need.
