University is full of opportunities – to learn new skills, meet new people and make the most of everything student life has to offer. Having the right support and tools in place can help you feel more confident and in control from day one.

We asked the Digital Hub team to share their top tips to help you get the most out of your time at Exeter – from using digital tools effectively to knowing where to go for support.

Use MyExeter to stay organised

Advice from Reece Hayden, Digital Hub Coordinator (Penryn):

“Something I wish I had earlier when I was a student is MyExeter – it’s incredibly useful and puts everything you need in one place.”

MyExeter is your go-to app for day-to-day student life. You can:

  • Check your timetable
  • Book study spaces
  • Discover events and activities
  • Access key University information

Getting familiar with MyExeter early will help you stay organised and make the most of your time at Exeter.

Don’t struggle with digital tools – ask for help

Lisa, Digital Hub Student Ambassador, shares:

“I didn’t realise how useful the Digital Hub was. You can pop along with any questions or even book a 1:1 Teams session.”

Whether you’re setting up Wi-Fi, using Microsoft tools, or having issues with MyExeter, support is always available.

The Digital Hub is here to help you get the most out of the University’s digital tools – quickly and confidently.

Set expectations when living with others

Victoria, Digital Hub Student Ambassador, offers a practical tip:

“Create a cleaning rota with your housemates.”

Living with new people can be a big adjustment. Setting expectations early, even for small things, can make a big difference and help avoid misunderstandings later on.

Be kind – to yourself and others

Marie, Digital Hub Manager, shares a final thought:

“You never know what somebody else is going through, so always be kind.”

University is a shared experience, and kindness goes a long way – whether that’s supporting others or giving yourself time to adjust.
