Join us for a special Digital Demo showcasing Product Management at UoE. In this session we’ll take you on a deep dive into how we identify user needs, prioritise work, deliver value through continuous improvement. We will also showcase the MyExeter app and our newest digital product supporting the Digital Skills Initiative.

Originally developed at Google, Design Sprints combine the best of design thinking, rapid prototyping, and user feedback to help teams move from ideas to tested solutions—fast. You’ll learn how the Design Sprint process can be adapted to suit a variety of work or study contexts, from improving services and systems to developing new products or tackling strategic challenges.

This session explores how product prioritisation frameworks can help you optimise your time and make better decisions, not just at work, but in everyday life – juggling a busy inbox or planning a family event. We will introduce some simple, yet powerful frameworks that will help you think like a product manager and apply those skills to real-world challenges.

Join Rachel, one of the User Experience Designers from the UoE Digital Transformation Team, for an engaging online workshop to learn about Design Thinking. Explore how this human-centred approach can help solve complex problems, enhance your projects and improve your ways of working. Also learn how Design Thinking can be applied to solving problems in your our work or study.

Discover the power of putting users at the heart of everything you do in this lunch & learn session on user-centred thinking. Whether you’re building products, writing comms, or improving internal processes, taking a user-first approach helps ensure you’re solving the right problems in the right way. We’ll explore simple techniques to help shift your mindset to think like your audience, and making every decision count.

Join Aastha, one of our Scrum Masters, for an engaging online session demystifying one of the most common questions in project delivery: What’s the real difference between Agile and Waterfall? Using real-world examples, Aastha will walk us through the fundamentals of Agile, how it contrasts with traditional Waterfall methodology, and what that means for how we collaborate, plan, and deliver value in a fast-paced digital environment.

Join Aastha one of our Scrum Masters from the UoE Digital Transformation Team to learn about some of the most used Agile terms and definitions.

What is WPD and why are we celebrating?

21 May 2025 is WPD, an annual event celebrating the product management craft and community. It began in 2018 on the eight-year anniversary of the first ProductTank meetup – ProductTanks in 90 cities across 43 countries had fun highlighting the craft of product management with their communities and delivering talks that emphasised the different perspectives that different cultures bring to the craft of product management. The anniversary became an annual event and today WPD brings product people together to celebrate, connect and learn.

The Digital team has a Product function comprised of a team of Product Managers who are accountable for delivery of a range of products and services enabling digital transformation at UoE, including MyExeter, the Digital Skills Initiative, and the Digital Hub.

We’re celebrating WPD to highlight everything the Product team brings to the University and to enable the University community to learn more about the world of Product at UoE!
