Led by Dr Jemma Shipton with support from ExCMS, this event held on 27th April 2026 aimed at bring together researchers across the university who work at the interface of numerical methods and data-driven algorithms, or who are interested in doing so in the future. To complement the previous event organised on Streatham campus this event was held in Penryn to try to bridge together the research going on on both campuses. We heard about research focussing on fundamental numerical methods as well as numerical research with applications to health, fluid dynamics, and ocean modelling. This was followed by small group discussions on the benefits of formalising a Research Network in this topic and ideas for future events, training and collaborations.
