The Cornwall campus of the University of Exeter is located just outside Penryn, close to Falmouth. A travel guide can be found here.
We encourage travel by rail. You can get the train (including the sleeper service from London Paddington – we would recommend booking a single cabin) to Penryn (change in Truro). Alternatively, there are flights to Newquay airport where you can then get a taxi to Penryn. There is also an airport in Exeter, from where busses and trains can take you to Penryn.
Penryn and Falmouth are linked by a regular train and bus service with a short walk up hill to campus, or 15 min bus trip direct to campus.
The train takes 7 minutes with a short walk up a hill to the Penryn campus. The bus takes 15 minutes directly to the campus. You can catch the U3 (quickest), U1 or U2, which all run regular services from early in the morning to late at night. You can use contactless cards to pay as you board. You can find more information and timetables on the First Bus website.
The Beryl e-bike hire scheme is also available and it is a 25-minute cycle between Falmouth and Penryn.
We encourage the use of public transport where possible, but there are also local taxi services available.
We offer affordable on-campus accommodation. All rooms have double beds and ensuite bathrooms. The price per per night per room is £49. More information is available here, but DO NOT book your accommodation through that website. You will only be able to book your on-campus accommodation at registration for ExE 2026.
Alternatively you can book your own accommodation in Penryn or Falmouth.
It is your responsibility to obtain health and travel insurance. The organisers do not accept responsibility for any injury, lost or damaged items, or travel disruptions during your stay.
