The Farming Futures Cycle Tour

About me

Hi! I’m Veronica.

I’m a second-year Human Geography PhD student at the University of Exeter.

I was born in the United States and raised in the Netherlands, where my love for cycling was born. I moved to England in 2015 to study at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. After graduating, I moved to Exeter for my MSc in Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture and a few years later, I began my PhD within the Geography department.

Over the last few years, I’ve volunteered on four very different farms: from bottling milk on a floating dairy farm in the Rotterdam harbour to helping with lambing at a friend’s mixed farm in Herefordshire.

Outside of academia, I’m a photographer, graphic designer, and lover of outdoor adventure. I feel really lucky to be able to combine my research with a big adventure! I’m so excited to meet you somewhere along my fieldwork cycle ride!
