Welcome to the website of the Pregnancy and Fetal Growth Genomics research team of the Department of Clinical and Biomedical Sciences at University of Exeter Medical School.
Our team’s goals are (i) to understand the biological pathways that influence the growth of a human fetus and placenta, and (ii) how fetal and placental growth relate to health outcomes for mother and offspring.
Our multidisciplinary team includes statisticians, biologists, clinicians, and mathematicians working together. We analyse genomic, clinical, longitudinal and epidemiological data from large studies of parents and offspring. Through our collaborative approach, both within the team and with multiple external collaborators, we aim to uncover new insights into maternal and fetal health to improve pregnancy care and long-term child wellbeing.
We are members of the following research consortia:
- Early Growth Genetics (EGG) Consortium
- Genetics of Diabetes in Pregnancy (GenDiP) Consortium
