The study is a research-practice partnership between the University of Exeter Medical School, the Children’s Social Care Research and Development Centre (CASCADE), the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster City Council and the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
The three Local Authority partners are Department of Education Partners in Practice who first introduced SFGCs as an alternative within their Child Protection pathway as part of a pilot research study led by CASCADE (July 2019 – Feb 2020). Using a realist approach, the SFGC study builds on this pilot work.
