We are excited to announce that the Department of Mathematics and Statistics ECRN will be hosting an external speaker to address staff and students on this topic.

Who: Timothy Ash

Timothy Ash is a former research fellow in Economics at the University of Exeter, associate fellow of Chatham House, geopolitical economist, now senior sovereign strategist at Royal Bank of Canada BlueBay. Tim is an accomplished financial professional, utilising research to shape policies in some of the world’s most challenging environments, sometimes advising senior political figures directly. He combines strong research skills with sharp business acumen and has held many different positions in the financial services over his career, requiring adaptation to severe global crises (e.g. 2008 financial crisis).

What to expect:

  • Overview of Tim’s professional career and how he has navigated world inflection points during this time.
  • Advice for both staff and students who are facing unprecedented change in the workplace.
  • Q&A at the end, where attendees will have the opportunity to ask Tim specific questions.

This event will be accessible to undergraduate students and beyond.
