Who are we?

An Early Career Researcher (ECR) is anyone who considers themselves as such. Maybe you are a PGR, a postdoc, a fellowship holder, a starting academic, …

The ECRN is a collection of the the ECRs in the Maths&Stats Department who get together to attend events and discuss issues.

What do we do?

We organise a number of events aimed at ECRs on topics including career development, research culture.

We regularly apply for small funding pots for ECR-related initiatives administered by the RDRC team. If you have an idea, get in touch for more info and support.

We repsent ECRs with Department and University Management, through e.g.

If you have any issues and concerns that you don’t feel comfortable bringing directly to your Line Manager etc., we can support you with that. Do get in touch!
