4 February 2020There are a few maths CPD events taking place in Devon and Cornwall this term.
The first of these is the ATM/MA meeting happening this Wednesday (5th February) at the Exeter Maths School. At this hands on meeting, Dr Bob Burn will be exploring Tessellation and promises some unexpected results from simple techniques. (Flyer: Bob Burn)
The Shanghai Teacher Exchange is organised by the NCETM and Maths Hub Network. There are just 12 secondary schools around the country hosting a pair of teachers from Shanghai and Launceston College has been chosen as one of these host schools. On March 10th and 11th two teachers will each offer a ’showcase’ lesson followed by a discussion based on the lesson and the planning process that led up to it. Details are on the attached poster, and you can book by completing the form here. (Flyer: 2020 Shanghai Live)
Finally for this term is another ATM/MA meeting which is taking place on Thursday 30th April, again at the Exeter Maths School. This one will be a session from Mark McCourt. Mark hasn’t yet finalised the focus of his session, but it will be suitable for both primary and secondary teachers. More details to follow.
Lastly, there is a one day event for Primary Teachers organised by the MA. This is taking place at the Exeter Maths School on Saturday 14th March (Pi Day!) and includes sessions from Ruth Merttens, Ray Huntley, Jill Mansergh and a few others! Details and booking is here (This isn’t free, it’s £50 for MA members, and £80 for non-members (which includes a year of membership))
