Recovered Study

Recovered Study

Stage 2 – Testing the feasibility of the intervention

We are currently running a small study called a feasibility study to test whether the rehabilitation programme works well, and whether people are willing to take part in a study. Sixty people who have had delirium during a hospital stay will take part in the feasibility study along with a close family member or friend (participants). Participants will be recruited from six NHS hospitals in England and Scotland.

Participants will do the rehabilitation programme at home for between 6 – 12 weeks with the guidance of a healthcare support worker. We will assess participants 3- and 6 months after they leave hospital to see how well they have recovered after having delirium.

During this stage, we will interview participants and healthcare professionals to get their feedback on the rehabilitation programme. This will help us to know if we need to make any improvements.

At the end of the feasibility study, we will be able to decide if it is possible to run a much larger study.
