Studies globally suggest forced migrants are at a higher risk of experiencing, and perpetrating IPV, yet little research has sought to describe how their experiences of migration (pre, during and after), as well as experiences of poverty, trauma and gender inequalities shape IPV and poor mental health.

This project is looking into understanding and addressing intimate partner violence (IPV) in forced migrant (refugee) communities in Durban, South Africa.
