「還暦おばさん英国大学院に留学する」
After teaching for more than 30 years, I, Sae Bunazawa from Japan—now 60 years old and still hopeless with digital devices—suddenly decided to take on the bold challenge of studying abroad in the MEd TESOL programme at the University of Exeter.
In this online book, which I wrote and illustrated, with editing and cover design by my classmate Minami Shibata, I share my adventurous and rewarding experiences as a “mature” student living and studying in Exeter.
Helped by many fortunate encounters with University staff and classmates from around the world—many of whom were more than a generation younger than me—I overcame difficulties one by one and rediscovered the joy of student life. I hope my story encourages anyone who wishes to continue learning, especially those who feel they may be too old to begin something new.
