At the beginning of the summer we recruited two fantastic undergraduates as part of our annual Summer Internship Scheme funded by SPHR. Medical student Youka has been working with Michelle Tester-Jones on her project Analysis of PI&E Impact Data Across SPHR, while Psychology student Sophie has been assisting Kath Wilkinson on the project Mapping UK Policies Relevant to Young People Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET).
Youka has just completed her six-week role and Sophie will finish in August. The scheme is a great opportunity for UG’s to gain first-hand experience of public health research; one of our 2024 Interns, Poppy, enjoyed it so much she came back to us as a graduate and now works as a Research Assistant undertaking patient involvement and engagement (PI&E) coordination on our Healthy Places, Healthy Plant project.
