Many congratulations to our university Tennis Club, who won the LTA University of the Year for all their student and community work. The LTA Tennis Awards highlights the vital work of tennis volunteers, coaches, officials, and players across Britain, with as many as 2,500 nominations received each year.

In June, the University of Exeter Tennis Club received news they had won the Regional (South and South West Region) Award for University of the Year. Further to this, they were then shortlisted with 2 other Universities for the National Award.

The tennis club has done phenomenal work with students over the years, increasing its size to over 1100 members, making them the largest University Tennis Club in the country. The size of their student workforce was recognised highly by the LTA. UoE Tennis have over 60 student coaches who assist in running the club’s development side, helping create a greater community within the club, along with providing the coaches with experience and work. Lastly, their This Girl Can sessions were also popular this year due to their amazing female workforce along with the layout of the sessions. This led to a female participation increase of over 5%! It’s great to see the development of the club increase year on year, congratulations once again.
