S.T.R.A.W.S. Supporting Teachers: Resilience and Wellbeing in Slovakia
This project has taken place over a variety of stages and is currently in the process of another. The project began by reaching out to over 1100 teachers in Slovakia with a survey to gain an initial understanding of the issues that they were facing and how this project could support them. This has since been translated into Czech and rolled out there and can be made available in a variety of languages. From this, we engaged with six teacher-researchers to develop an experience-based programme that could be delivered to other teachers. This was done with our partners SHEP in Ireland, who were crucial to this programme. With the kind support of SHEP and our teacher-researchers we were able to develop a workshop which was trialled in Ireland before being delivered in Slovakia. This was delivered to a range of enthusiastic teachers and a handbook was also made to support them after this. Following on from this, we re-interviewed our teacher-researchers so we could continue to tailor the programme to their exact needs. Currently we are working through these to find the priorities for future editing of the programme.
