When I was researching the different universities in the UK, I was certain I wanted to choose a campus based university. If you’re unsure whether you would like a campus based university or not, hopefully this blog post will help you understand what it’s like to study here at Exeter’s Streatham Campus!

1. Convenience

With a campus based university, everything is all in one location, meaning it is extremely convenient.

Here on the Streatham Campus, there are facilities such as the gym, library, supermarket, eateries such as Pret. There’s even a printing service where you can print coursework or even business cards, booklets, and more. Campus accommodation is also available for students, making it very convenient to hop back to halls between classes.

My favourite spot is La Touché at the Business School. It’s the perfect place for me to have lunch in between classes as most of my classes are at the Business School. La Touché offers breakfast, lunch, cakes, drinks, and an amazing salad bar.

2. Space

Campus is massive! With this space, you can enjoy scenic walks around campus to take a break from studying. It also makes meeting up with friends or group mates from projects really convenient as well. There are numerous study spaces as well, even during the busy exam season. Check out Josh’s video for his favourite study spaces!

3. Sense of community

With students from different subjects on the same campus, you feel a sense of community whilst studying here. Campus is also where many community events are held, such as the Lunar New Year celebration, Diwali, and the Spring Community Day.

4. Safety

With campus security, I always feel safe on campus. The Estate Patrol are available 24 hours every single day of the year. They can help out with problems you might face such as leaving your keys outside office hours, noise complaints, and so on.

If you’re able to come visit our campus in person I’m sure you’ll understand the benefits of studying on a campus based university. Just a 15 minute walk from town, Exeter is a great place to study.

If you’re unable to visit us in person, explore our campus through our virtual campus tours:
