Tech-and-Life Pal
Tech-and-Life Pal runs over a period of 2 to 3 months and consists of 2–3 on-site sessions and 6 online sessions, combining in-person and virtual interactions to support digital learning and intergenerational connection.
Session 1: On-Site Welcome & Pairing
The program begins with an in-person session where all participants meet for the first time and are paired with a partner. This informal afternoon gathering includes tea and biscuits and takes place at a local venue. Both older and younger participants will complete a brief survey about their expectations and experiences.
Sessions 2–7: Weekly Online Meetings
Each pair will meet weekly via Zoom for 20 minutes to 1 hour. During these sessions, partners will work together to complete a set of 12 quizzes designed to promote digital literacy and life skill learning. Pairs who answer all questions correctly receive a golden star as recognition.
Session 8: On-Site Sharing Session
In the second in-person session, pairs will reunite to share their life experiences and reflect on their journey together. This event is designed to strengthen the intergenerational bond and celebrate personal growth.
Session 9 (Optional): Final Celebration
A final on-site session may be held to celebrate the completion of the program, recognise participants’ efforts, and formally close the project.
Program Evaluation
At the end of the program, all participants will be invited to take part in interviews about their experiences. University students will also complete a final survey.
