Sirāj al-Dīn al-Sakkākī was a rhetorician and court magician born in Khwarazm in 1160 CE (555 H). This volume contains editions and translations of the second and third treatises of his sorcerer’s handbook, Kitāb al-Shāmil wa-baḥr al-kāmil (The Book of the Complete and Sea of the Perfect). The second treatise of this grimoire describes Solomonic rituals using magic circles to contact and subjugate the jinn and the children of Satan. The third treatise contains rituals using goblets and young servants who are used as conduits for contacting the jinn, as well as exorcism treatments for magically caused illness.
