Hello everyone and congratulations on getting your study place at Exeter! I’m sure you have been through a rollercoaster of emotions these past few days but we’re here to answer any questions you might have.
Today we’re going to focus on what the timeline is for sending offers out and what to do about your accommodation if you are a Clearing applicant.
Offers
If you applied to us within the accommodation guarantee then we will be sending offers out from Monday 22 August and throughout that week. We don’t send all our offers in one go, and we don’t send a whole residence in one go either, so please be patient while you are waiting to hear from us.
Demand for some residences has been high, so you might not get an offer for one of your top preferences. You can take a look at our application ratio table to see how many people applied for each bedspace across our residences this year. If you don’t receive your preferred offer please don’t despair! Your university experience is not just about the residence you are living in – it is about the people you meet and become friends with, clubs and societies you join, and of course your studies!!
If your results were confirmed prior to August and you have already accepted an offer of accommodation, the Induction and Arrivals systems will be closed after tonight until the week of Tuesday 30 August. We will then reopen it in batches of residences, so you will be notified when it is available to you again.
Clearing and Insurance applicants
If you are only just applying for accommodation now, we do expect to have availability within our residences. It is likely that we will be able to offer:
- Single standard in catered accommodation, on campus
- Single en-suite in catered accommodation, on campus
- Single standard in self-catered accommodation, off campus
We would encourage you to submit an application to us as soon as possible, as post-guarantee applications are dealt with on a first-come, first-served basis. However, you might need to wait 24-48 hours after accepting your course offer before you can create an accommodation account. Please just try again the next day (after 9am UK time as this is when our daily system updates are complete). If you are still having issues after 2 days then please get in touch with us.
You will need your Exeter Student ID to be able to create an accommodation account – our Admissions team will be able to confirm it to you if you don’t know this ID number, but you should find it on any email correspondence you receive from Admissions. It is likely to start with 72, and is not the same as your UCAS number.
As a clearing/insurance applicant, if we are able to make you an offer you will receive notification via email from week commencing 29 August. Our Applying after the Guarantee webpage has been updated with additional information relevant to this year’s intake.
