Happy New Year Everyone! Wow, we can’t believe it’s 2020!

Firstly, we want to say welcome back! And we hope that you’re feeling refreshed and ready for the new term ahead. For those of you who have just joined us for Semester 2, welcome to Exeter! We wish you an amazing experience here and remember that we’re here to help if you need any accommodation support.

In today’s blog, we will be going over a few pieces of information about what’s going on over the next few weeks.

New Year, New Activities:

New Year is a great time to try new things. Instead of committing to countless hard to achieve resolutions, why not take up a new hobby? The Students Guild have put on a great week of activities for REFRESHERS 2020. From the new societies fair to the festival of cultures, The Guild has put together plenty of new and exciting things to see and do on both our Streatham and St Luke’s campuses.

If you’re looking for a more active new year, The University Sports Centre  offer various types of memberships which include gym access, swimming and fitness classes.

Finding Private Accommodation for next year:

We know that many of you have secured private accommodation for next year already. However, there is no panic if you haven’t yet. Our Studentpad website still has a large variety of properties available for the 2020/21 academic year and we are updating it regularly.  Check out our After Your First Year web page for advice and information.

Accommodation Office Information:

Next week we will have a Student drop-in session about the Essential Repairs and Improvement Works. If you’ve got any queries about the exterior works or shower room works call by for a chat. This will take place on Wednesday 22 January, from 14:30 to 15:00 in Peter Chalk 1.2.  A representative from the construction company undertaking the works and relevant university staff will be on hand to answer your questions. If you’d like to get in touch in the meantime you can email us at residencefeedback@exeter.ac.uk

We are also back to our regular SID drop-in sessions for term 2. We are available between 11:00-15:00 Monday to Friday during term 2. If you wish to speak to us about any accommodation concerns or queries, please visit the SID desk and ask to speak with accommodation.

January Blues

We know that January can be a difficult month with the dark and cold nights. But please remember to look after you first and that there are support services here for you at anytime. Please find a list of our services here.

Thank you very much for reading today’s blog. We will be continuing our Blog every Tuesday at 11:00am for our prospective students. Please be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook page for any useful information for our current students.
