Real-time Detection of Dissolved Calcium and other Metals for Healthier Aquatic Systems
New discovery
We have developed a new range of accurate sensing molecules for dissolved calcium.
What problems are we solving?
Metals, including calcium, are vital to the health, growth, moulting, and survival of fish, shellfish and seaweed.
Current testing methods for dissolved calcium in aquaculture settings trade accuracy for speed. They either slow, expensive and accurate, or fast but inaccurate.
This results in poor control and compromised animal welfare, productivity, and profitability.
Our discovery & its applications
We have developed a range of novel sensing molecules for dissolved calcium.
These molecules deliver accurate, real-time and continuous monitoringof dissolved calcium.
Trustworthy, automated, real-time calcium data will improve animal health, yield andsustainability, across the fastest growing food-production sector worldwide.
Our novel calcium sensing molecules have a range of potential applications when applied to a substrate:
– aquaculture – commercial freshwater and saline settings – home aquaria – environmental monitoring – environmental monitoring – water supply analysis – healthcare
Patent application & Beta testing
Our patent application was filed 3rd Feb 2026.
We are developing a substrate to Beta test in freshwater and marine commercial aquaculture settings.
We are working with optical sensor experts Seneye Ltd to develop a device for Beta testing.
Seneye IOT sensors deliver constant and accurate monitoring of key aquatic parameters, providing rich information and complete remote data collection.
