8 September 2023The CDF tech team have worked with BBC production staff as part of the British Science Festival, to transform Roborough Studios into a TV Studio for the Question Time Special of BBC’s iconic Sky At Night programme. The studio was filled with a lively audience, and a panel of Sky at Night regulars was joined with special guests from Exeter. Our LED lighting rig was used to light the audience and TV lighting was brought in to light the panel. We also provided the AV equipment, staging, props and furniture for the event. The setup was also used for a talk by staff from the BBC Natural History unit the next day.
The tech team worked alongside BBC and other vendors over 3 days leading up to the recording. The Sky At Night programme was broadcast on 9 October 2023 and is available until Summer 2024 on iPlayer.
