On Tuesday 5th December The Centre for Commercial and Corporate Law welcomed  Glory Nwaugbala is a DPhil candidate at the University of Oxford, whose research is on labour disputes and Sino-African relations.   The paper was titled Corporate Social Responsibility and Decent Work in China: the Influence of EU and International Norms.  The presentation discussed challenges of dispatched workers who are working in enclaves where multi jurisdictional labour law could apply and how tension and conflict was often the result.  The UK-China CAI was presented as a possible model for resolving these.   Prior to the talk a networking lunch and ‘farewell’ was offered to Centre co-director Mimi Zou.  An enjoyable and intellectually stimulating afternoon was shared by staff and LLM student members of the Centre.
