12 September 2024The Law School will be sending a team of two students to the Landmark Chambers Property Moot Competition.
The annual Property Moot Competition provides students who are particularly interested in property law with an opportunity to develop their understanding of the subject and to gain some insight into the realities of practice through meeting members of Landmark’s Property Team.
The competition comprises of three knock-out rounds followed by a Grand Final, which traditionally takes place at the Royal Courts of Justice. The two individual competitors who obtain the highest scores in the Grand Final will each be awarded £500 and the opportunity to undertake a mini-pupillage in Chambers.
The first round of the competition will take place in-person on Saturday 9 November 2024, at Chambers in London. During the first round every student who enters the moot will be provided with the opportunity not only to hone their research, drafting and advocacy skills, but also to hear more from the organisers, about life at Landmark and at the Property Bar. To that end, and in addition to the moots themselves, competitors will be given the opportunity to participate in a property law workshop with members of Chambers’ Property Team and to ask the Pupillage Committee questions about the pupillage application process and the structure of pupillage itself.
If you are interested in participating this competition, please email the Mooting Inbox (mooting@exeter.ac.uk ) with your expression of interest. In accordance with the Competitions Policy, please include in your email details of any previous external competitions where you have represented the Law School.
Please note that expressions of interest must be submitted by 5pm on 27 September 2024.
