This information has been sent to the Law School by the Charity Dig Deep.

Dig Deep is a student-founded, award-winning water charity. For over 15 years they’ve offered transformative experiences to students which develop their personal skills, enhance their employability and allow them to make a huge positive impact on the world.

They have just opened recruitment for Team Leader roles for their Kilimanjaro challenge. In this role you will gain a year of leadership experience (supported by bespoke training and coaching) before taking on the once-in-a-lifetime challenge of reaching the summit of Africa’s tallest mountain in August 2026.

Dig Deep is looking for someone who is enthusiastic, approachable and committed to recruiting and leading a team to take on the challenge in return for discounted travel.

Initial applications will be open until 11/05/25, but positions will be given out on a rolling basis to suitable candidates as they apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspire: Get the word out about this epic challenge and the charity mission it supports by being an ambassador for Dig Deep.
  • Recruit: Drive our tried and tested recruitment campaign to assemble a team of like-minded individuals to take on Kilimanjaro with you.
  • Support: With our advice, support your team through their fundraising, aid them with their trip preparations and ensure they have a great pre-trip experience through organising socials and team fundraising events.

Benefits:

  • Gain leadership experience
  • Receive bespoke training and coaching to boost your skills and CV
  • Take on a once-in-a-lifetime experience
  • Access reduced travel costs
  • Change the lives of thousands of people in East Africa through your team’s fundraising efforts

There have been some brilliant teams of students from the University of Exeter in the past, and previous Team Leaders enthuse about how this opportunity has been “the single most rewarding experience of their life” and helped them to secure employment upon graduation.

More information about the role can be found at https://www.digdeepchallenges.org/be-a-team-leader or by contacting the Challenge Event Manager on jasmine@digdeep.org.uk.
