Applicable to final year students and recent graduates.

The Kennedy Scholarship competition 2026-27 is open for applications (closing date 20th October 2025) and see if you would share this exciting opportunity to study at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Every autumn a national competition takes place to select a group of scholars for postgraduate study at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for the following academic year. We are keen to attract a strong and diverse field of candidates from throughout the UK and especially seek those with a desire to have a wider positive impact on society.

A Kennedy Scholarship provides full tuition fees, health insurance, and a means-tested bursary for living expenses for one academic year. Those applying must be:
• British citizens
• Ordinarily resident in the UK
• Wholly or mainly educated in the UK prior to university
• Graduates of a UK university and must have commenced their undergraduate studies no earlier than 1 September 2016. Those studying for a first degree at a UK university and due to graduate in the academic year 2025-2026 are also eligible.

The Kennedy Memorial Trust was founded in 1964 to oversee the official British national memorial to US President John F. Kennedy. That memorial has two parts, ‘a memorial in landscape and stone’ at Runnymede in Surrey and a ‘living memorial’ in the form of the Kennedy Scholarships.
