1 December 2025Congratulations to all students who took part in the recent all school Client Interviewing Competition. Here are some of the reflections from the students who took part at the Final held at Foot Anstey.
Taking part in the client interviewing competition was a challenging and rewarding experience. Over the different rounds, I was able to develop my interview skills and become more comfortable with the client interviewing process. The feedback from the judges was invaluable and I now have experience that directly demonstrates key skills for being a solicitor, better preparing me for the job market post-graduation.
Andy Takhar – winner of the University of Exeter Internal Client Interview Competition

The client interviewing competition was an incredibly rewarding experience, building my confidence in a hands on way of using legal skills. So much of degree study is done individually, and in the ‘classroom’ setting. It was lovely to get some collaborative experience, and apply law in a new, real world, way. One of the most rewarding parts was hearing from professionals in the workplace. The feedback and confidence I’ve gained will go a long way to support me as I move forward.
Arielle De Leon – winner of the University of Exeter Internal Client Interview Competition
The Client Interviewing Competition was a fabulous opportunity to develop my skills outside of the lecture theatre. It was a chance to practice my communication with the client, collaborate with my interview partner, and develop my professionalism by being judged by a Foot Anstey partner and a senior member of the Law School. I would recommend this experience to anyone who would like to get a taste for a solicitor’s duties, and challenge themselves to apply their legal knowledge in a real-life scenario.
