5 March 2026The University of Exeter Law School and the Canadian Law Society will co-host our annual Canadian Careers Event on Wednesday 11 March 2026. The event is tailored to help you understand the different career routes available to you. Whether you are planning on staying in the UK and want to hear some tips for your training contract applications, are planning on returning to Canada and looking to start the NCAs, have been considering a legal master’s degree, or have absolutely no idea what to do next, this is your chance to ask alumni and industry professionals those burning questions.
We will start the event with an in-person panel, giving students the chance to speak with two Exeter alumni currently living and working in the UK. There will be a presentation from NCA Tutors, who will go over the NCA process, structure, requirements, and offer some general advice about returning to Canada. We will then welcome Tess Read from the Career Zone, who will go over how to write a fantastic UK CV, as well as provide one-to-one feedback on your current CV (so don’t forget to bring it along).
Our online panel discussion, moderated by Dr Malcolm Rogge, will include Alumni working in Canada, giving our students another chance to hear some more perspectives on graduate opportunities. Finally, for all your last-minute questions, there will be time to network with our speakers over pizza, courtesy of the Law School.
This event is open to all University of Exeter Law School students, Canadian Law Society members and non-members, and Exeter students outside of the Law School who are interested in pursuing a career in law or a related profession.
