Newfields Law Immigration Academy

Posted by The Law School

8 April 2026

The Newfields Law Academy is designed to provide a practical introduction to UK immigration law and the pathways available to students who may wish to pursue a career in this area of legal practice.

The programme will consist of 12 pre-recorded lectures (each approximately 25–40 minutes in length), accompanied by 12 live Q&A sessions where students will have the opportunity to revisit the material, ask questions, and seek guidance on the topics covered.

Importantly, there will be no cost for Welsh students to participate. The aim is to widen access to specialist legal knowledge while strengthening awareness of the support available for those entering the legal profession, including opportunities supported by the Welsh Government.

Through the Academy we also hope to:

  • Encourage students to view immigration law as a viable and rewarding career path in Wales.
  • Provide opportunities for students to ask questions and seek guidance from practitioners
  • Offer the possibility of placement opportunities with Newfields Law for interested students
