22 September 2023Exeter Law School’s Royal Literary Fund (RLF) Fellow is Christopher Wakling. He is a professional writer and editor who is here to help you improve your academic writing skills. He is available to all students whether you are an undergraduate or postgraduate.
This provision complements our own law skills activities and the university’s study skills. It is particularly helpful in focusing on non-subject specific writing advice with dedicated one-to-one support. Christopher offers one-to-one academic writing tutorials in person and online. The sessions last up to 50 minutes and are free and confidential. They can focus on any aspects of your written communication and are intended to be useful however good your writing is.
Possible topics might include:
The choice is yours, whatever you and Christopher think would be most helpful.
Christopher is available on Tuesdays in Boardroom 2, near the Moot Court.
He also offers video tutorials on Wednesdays.
To arrange a session of either of these days please email Christopher.
*To make the most of your session email Christopher a sample of your writing in advance of your meeting. Alternatively, please have it available for the tutorial. If the sample is an essay, don’t forget to include the question.
*Please note that this service is only available to students currently living in the UK. It is not suitable for those who require specialised English language help (eg TEFL, EAP), who should seek assistance from the university.
