Abstract:
The challenges related to the increasing use of information and communication technologies for malicious purposes are high on the agenda in international negotiations. Anna-Maria will discuss the prevalent trends in cyber diplomacy and shed light to the discussions held in the United Nations Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG) which focus on the framework of responsible behaviour in cyberspace in the context of international security.

Speaker bio:
Dr Anna-Maria Osula is currently working at the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Department of Digital and Cyber Diplomacy. Previously, she was a senior researcher at Tallinn University of Technology, and a Global Digital Governance Fellow at Stanford University. Anna-Maria has also worked at Guardtime as a senior policy officer, and before that as a legal researcher at the NATO CCDCOE, undertaking projects on national cyber security strategies, international organisations and international law. In addition to a PhD in law from the University of Tartu, she holds an LLM degree in IT law from Stockholm University.
